5 ways to stick to your New Year’s Resolutions
The clock struck twelve on New Year’s Eve and we turned the page on an extremely challenging year. We cannot deny that COVID-19 is still a major part of how we live our lives even in the new year, however the new year is still a time to feel renewed, hopeful about the year that is to come and remember that the goals we have for ourselves remain attainable.
Your new year’s resolutions may vary from physical health to financial freedom and everything else in-between, but the question is: how do you keep the momentum you had at the beginning of January all year long?
In 2021 let’s approach our dreams with integrity, we said we would do it and we did. This is not to say there won’t be difficulties en route to destination dream come true, but rather we are committed to keeping the promises we made to ourselves.
Here are 5 ways to help you stick to your New Year’s Resolutions:
- Create a vision board
Vision boards are visual representations of the goals that you have set. Keep your vision board in a space where you will see it every day as a reminder of the goals that you have set for yourself.
- Breakdown your goals
A goal can seem overwhelming and unattainable at first, purely because of its size. But when you break the goal down into months or even weeks, it becomes more attainable.
- Have an accountability partner
Having someone that can hold you accountable (in a way that’s encouraging and positive) can be beneficial in achieving your goals. Someone who you trust and has your best interest at heart, can help you take actionable steps towards your dreams.
- Remember your why
The journey to achieving your goals is not free of challenges and difficulties. When the going gets tough remember why you started and how achieving your goal will make you feel. True growth comes from challenges.
- Don’t strive for perfection
Achieving your goals is not about perfection, but it’s about taking those little steps that ultimately lead you to achieving your goals. Don’t strive for perfection rather strive for progress and authenticity.
With these tips in mind, 2021 is about to be a phenomenal year for you. From us at Auto & General, we wish you all the best this new year.
