Legal Cover

With our Legal Cover product you will have access to advice on any private, legal or labour matter, regardless of whether the cause of dispute arose before or after the commencement of your policy. We offer three benefits that have been included with this product to help you when you need it most: the Basic Benefit, Mediation Benefit, and the Litigation Benefit.

Legal Cover includes cover for:

Assistance with written representations
Assistance with settlement negotiations in criminal and labour matters
Mediation in civil matters (if you want to institute a claim or defend an action against you)
Mediation in civil matters
Mediation in family matters, for example maintenance and divorce settlements
Matters related to identity theft
Drafting of the Legal Agreements

Basic benefit includes cover for:

Unlimited advice on private legal matters
Unlimited advice on labour matters
All advice is available through a 24-hour call centre

Assistance with written representations

Cover begins after the commencement date of your policy
Assistance up until litigation is inevitable
Unlimited cover
Letters will be written, telephone calls made, faxes and e-mails sent and consultations held on your behalf

Litigation benefit includes cover for:

Assistance when you're involved in any court proceedings where physical representation is required
Court proceedings include criminal, civil or labour
Cover is limited to up to R120 000 per annum
Cover begins three months after the commencement or reinstatement date of your policy

Cover begins after the commencement date of your policy
Assistance up until litigation is inevitable
Unlimited cover
