Auto&General is Never Not There for Children and Communities

Our new tagline as an insurer is Never Not There; this is not just a line that looks great on a massive billboard or sounds wonderful on a TV ad. Never Not There, is a mantra that we live by - we are unwaveringly committed to showing up for our customers and going beyond the call of duty.

Talking about going beyond the call of duty, our team recently demonstrated this with the Khubane Learning Centre claim.

The centre is located 90km from Polokwane, takes care of 40 children between one and five years old. It operates solely on funds from sponsors and employs eight teachers.

The incident…

Criminals stole essential supplies including food, baby formula, stationery and other necessities for the Centre. They accessed the Centre by cutting the wire fence, and breaking a window, two wooden doors and two security doors. 

While the Centre had Buildings Insurance in place, which covered the damaged caused to the structure, this cover did not insure the essentials that were stolen.

When our team assessed the damage, we couldn’t help but be moved by the passion displayed by the staff. Despite the lack of funds and no running water on the premises, the principal and teachers are dedicated to enriching young minds and ran the Centre at an exceptional standard.

As Auto&General we are committed to restoration and being there for our customers when it matters most. Our team went beyond the call of duty and not only paid the claim for the structural damage but additionally donated baby essentials, groceries, toiletries, stationery, netballs, and soccer balls, to the Centre.  These donations were accepted with immense gratitude by the staff.
