Portable Possessions Insurance

It can appear as if you're taking a small fortune with you whenever you leave your home, which is why we have developed our Auto & General Portable Possessions cover benefit to specifically cover these items against the risk of being carried around with you on a daily basis.

The great thing about this benefit is that some of your lower valued portable items are automatically covered upon concluding a home contents policy. You also have the opportunity to tell us about your more expensive items and specify these items for their correct replacement value. We call these Specified items, and the less expensive items are considered Unspecified items.

Specified items

Any item of higher value than the unspecified amount included in Home Contents Insurance for example your bicycles, prescription glasses, contact lenses, cellphones, valuable jewellery and clothing, cameras, laptops must be specified to be covered for their replacement value when lost, damaged or stolen.

Unspecified items

Low value items, under the value specified for unspecified items, will be covered automatically under Home Contents Insurance.
